I stood alone at the bar of God,
In the hush of the twilight dim,
And faced the question that pierced my heart,
“What will you do with Him?”
“Crowned or crucified? Which shall it be?”
No other choice was offered to me.
I looked on the face so marred with tears
That were shed in His agony
The look in His kind eyes broke my heart,
‘Twas full of love for me.
“The Crown or the Cross,” His eyes seemed to say;
“For or against Me, choose thou today.”
He whispered so tenderly to me;
While He pleadingly said, “Obey!”
“Make Me thy choice, for I love thee so!”
And I could not say Him nay.
Crowned, not crucified — this must it be;
No other way was open to me.
I knelt in tears at the feet of Christ,
In the hush of the twilight dim,
And all that I was, hoped, or sought,
Surrendered unto Him.
Crowned, not crucified — my heart shall know
No king but Christ, who loveth me so.
It was on the 3rd June 1977 I was baptized in the Holy Spirit, when Pastor Joy Fitch prayed for me during his ministry in Nawalapitiya Faith Home. Thereafter on 4th June 1977 he baptized me in water when the Miracle took place. Both My self & Pastor Joy fitch were carried by the river current. I was drowned for more than 5 – 10 minutes along with Pastor Joy Fitch until, miraculously both were pushed to the shore by the invisible Hand of the Lord. I praise God for Pastor Joy Fitch’s great impressions in my early Christian life which has now made me to be a Christian of high calling in the vineyard of God - Conrad Daniel
ReplyDeletePastor Joy Fitch was truly a humble servant of God, totally sold out for God. We grew up together in the same town, attended the same church, studied in the same school, came to know the Lord during our school days, I remember praying with him and also with another child of God after school Monday to Friday at least for two hours, some times on a Saturday we prayed through the night and attended the Sunday morning meeting.
ReplyDeleteAt that time (1964-1967) the church we belonged to had only few believers, but now I hear that that the church has much more believers, God had truly answered our prayers. all glory to Jesus. During our prayer time we had visitation of the spirit of God specially through Pastor joy Fitch, we came together to pray reqularly nearly for 3 years. I can say God had marked Pastor Joy Fitch very early in his life. I noted there was something special about this person very early in his life, he was so much in love with the Lord, honesty is his main character, God even selected Pastor Joy Fitch's departure day September 11, an important day for the world specially for America, Pastor Joy Fitch's last message, the day before his departure is to tell the world ' Jesus had defeated the enemy, because of that we too are over comers, fight the good fight of faith'. What a message to the world,God has made the day of his departure sep 11, none of us can forget, the world each year remember sep 9/11, speically all those who died, but when we remember Pastor Joy Fitch, he will be reminded by his message of hope he gave to the church, to the believers, to the world, sep 11 is not the end, Pastor Joy Fitch has gone to be with Jesus, but he has given us the assurance in his last message that, Jesus had defeated the enemy, because of what Jesus did, we too are over comers, fight the good fight of faith'. Let us run our race knowing that Jesus has already defeated the enemy, because of Jesus we too are over comers. Ben Kanagaratnam, Ireland.
